Malaga city: Delayed start, new route

Malaga City Council has delayed the start of the main Cabalgata de Reyes by one hour due to updated weather forecasts from Aemet.

  • Start time: 7.00pm
  • Starting point: Avenida de Cervantes
  • Route: Plaza General Torrijos, Paseo del Parque, Plaza de la Marina, Alameda Principal, Puente de Tetuán, Nazareno del Paso, Hilera, Puente de la Esperanza, Prim, Atarazanas, Puerta del Mar, Alameda Principal, Plaza de la Marina, Cortina del Muelle and City Hall.

At the end of the route, the Three Kings will walk along Calle Molina Lario to Malaga Cathedral, where they will make the traditional offering to the Child Jesus, accompanied by a concert from the Escolanía of the Orfeón Universitario de Málaga.

Earlier in the day, the Kings also visited the Hospital Materno Infantil, handing out gifts and spreading festive cheer to children receiving treatment.

Marbella and San Pedro Alcantara

Following a coordination meeting between the town hall, emergency services and security forces, Marbella has opted to delay its parade.

  • Start time: 7.00pm
  • Applies to: Marbella and San Pedro Alcántara

Earlier information suggested an 6.00pm start, but the final decision was to delay both parades by one hour due to the risk of rain.

Estepona

Their Majesties the Three Kings are already in Estepona and this morning greeted the children at the fairgrounds.

The main parade will depart at 5pm from the Town Hall and will travel along Avenida Juan Carlos I, Avenida Andalucía, Avenida España, and Calle Terraza.

Fuengirola: Later arrival by helicopter

Fuengirola has also adjusted its timetable.

  • Arrival of the Kings: 5.30pm (by helicopter at the Elola Complex)
  • Cabalgata start: 6.00pm

The delay was announced by the town hall in response to adverse weather forecasts.

Benalmadena

  • Benalmadena Pueblo: The parade is already under way and moving through the streets.

Mijas: Three parades still planned

Mijas has confirmed that its Three Kings parades will go ahead as scheduled, starting at 5.30pm in:

  • Mijas Pueblo
  • Las Lagunas
  • La Cala

As a precaution, indoor receptions have been arranged in case the weather deteriorates:

  • Plaza Virgen de la Peña (Mijas Pueblo)
  • Lagar Don Elías (Las Lagunas)
  • Municipal sports hall (La Cala)

Cartama: Static event instead of parade

Due to the expected instability, Cártama has cancelled its street parade and will instead hold a static Three Kings event.

  • Start time: 5.00pm
  • Location: Parque Navideño, recinto ferial (green hall)

Children will be able to meet the Kings in person, hand over their letters and enjoy performances and surprises despite the weather.
