Former Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has become the target of a high-value theft at his home in La Finca, one of Madrid’s most exclusive gated communities.
According to police, a married couple ‘close to Casillas’ are accused of swapping several of Casillas’ luxury watches for cheap replicas, including timepieces by Rolex, Hublot and Bvlgari.
The value of the stolen watches is estimated to exceed €200,000. A police investigation is underway.
The theft came to light after Casillas reportedly noticed discrepancies in his personal watch collection, which includes rare and custom models.
The watches were not forcibly taken – instead, the originals were carefully replaced with fakes and remained in place, giving the impression that nothing was missing.
Authorities say the individuals involved had access to Casillas’ home and private possessions.
Footage shared by the Policia Nacional shows the couple being arrested, while two of the watches have been recovered.
The force said: ‘Solved in less than 10 days, the theft of five high-end watches that occurred inside the home of a former professional football player in Madrid.
‘Two watches have been recovered and a married couple linked to the victim has been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the act.’
Among Casillas’s collection are the Rolex GMT-Master II ‘Sprite’, the Bvlgari Aluminium, Hublot Big Bang Steel Ceramic and the Bvlgari Octo Finissimo Ultra.
La Finca, located just outside Madrid, is home to a long list of celebrities and high-profile figures, including Alejandro Sanz and international footballers.
Known for its strict privacy and round-the-clock surveillance, the estate is considered one of the safest residential areas in Spain.
