Sierra Nevada, Spain’s southernmost ski and mountain resort, has announced its provisional dates for the 2025–2026 ski season.
The slopes are set to open on November 29, 2025 and close on April 26, 2026, three weeks later than most other major ski areas in Spain and Andorra – including Baqueira Beret, Formigal and Grandvalira.
The dates were shared by Cetursa, the public company that manages the resort, with the usual caveat that they’re subject to change depending on snow and weather conditions.
The announcement comes as ski resorts across Spain begin releasing their seasonal calendars.
Sierra Nevada has just wrapped up early sales of long-term ski passes, which saw 1.6% more revenue than the previous season.
One-day passes are now on sale, with the opening date tied to snow conditions, as usual for late November.
Most ski resorts in Spain close around Easter weekend – either April 5 or 6 in 2026, depending on the region.

But Sierra Nevada is once again pushing for a spring snow season, aiming to stay open until late April, weather permitting.
Cetursa says it’s committed to this extended schedule even if it’s not the most profitable option, and encourages local businesses to support the initiative by keeping services running longer than usual.
The 2024–2025 season ended on May 4 2025, with a total of 1.25 million visitors – a 12.5% increase over the previous year. Of those, 861,400 were skiers, up 10% year-on-year.
Despite a slow start – with mild temperatures and little snow delaying the ski launch to December 13, and only 5.8km of slopes open at first – the resort still managed to pull off a strong season, largely thanks to snowmaking and favourable conditions later in the year.
