Marbella’s San Pedro de Alcantara has been named among the locations for Halloween demonstrations being promoted online, according to an investigation by fact-checking organisation Newtral.
Messages circulating on TikTok, Telegram and WhatsApp refer to gatherings on Saturday, October 31, using the name ‘Blocus’, a term associated with the student blockades in France.
However, the material analysed does not establish a confirmed meeting time or location in San Pedro, how many people might attend or who is behind the local call.
The investigation, conducted with analyst Marcelino Madrigal, identified calls mentioning Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao and Algeciras alongside San Pedro.
It follows Saturday’s unrest in Barcelona, where shops were looted, barricades set alight and police confronted by groups of masked people.

Around 130 people were arrested, more than half of them minors, according to figures cited by Catalan president Salvador Illa.
Newtral identified approximately 70 TikTok accounts promoting or amplifying the October 31 gatherings.
Some use images of fires, barricades and strikes, while others direct users into WhatsApp groups for further information.
Around half the accounts were created during 2026, including 10 in October. At least 29 changed their usernames during October to incorporate references to ‘Blocus’ or the demonstrations.
In Algeciras, certain posts encourage participants to wear Halloween costumes and bring speakers or flags.
Other posters explicitly call for calm, prohibit dangerous objects and urge participants to avoid harming people or damaging property.
According to Newtral, the Mossos d’Esquadra are examining TikTok accounts and WhatsApp groups allegedly used to coordinate Barcelona’s disturbances.
Onda Algeciras has separately reported that Policia Nacional is investigating the circulation of calls through social media and messaging apps.
