Dangerous military-grade weapons have been discovered abandoned in the middle of a street in Sevilla.
A woman alerted the police after spotting the weapons of war in the Tiro de Linea neighbourhood.
The hard-right Vox party claimed the items were a grenade launcher and an AK-47 assault rifle.
It said in a statement: ‘War weapons have appeared, apparently a grenade launcher and an AK-47 assault rifle, discarded in the middle of the street in Tiro de Línea after an intense early-morning shootout between a gang of criminals and the Police.
‘The author of the photograph is a neighborhood resident.
‘The alarming increase in violence and the aggressiveness of the gangs is a constant, while the Government’s passivity is infuriating. We demand safe neighbourhoods!’
Policia Nacional sources confirmed to Europa Press that a military weapon had been found, but did not confirm the specific types described by the party.
Investigators are working to establish who owned the weapon and how it came to be left there.
The investigation remains open, with further details being withheld.
