Andalucia’s 2026-27 flu and Covid vaccination campaign is under way, with appointments opening in stages according to age, health conditions and vulnerability.
The first vaccinations began on October 1, with children under five, pregnant women, care-home residents and certain vulnerable patients among those given priority.
The groups eligible for flu and Covid vaccines are not identical, meaning some people will be offered one vaccine but not the other.
Below is the timetable published by the Andalucian Health Service (SAS).
From October 1
Flu vaccinations are available for all children aged between six and 59 months.
Children aged from six to 35 months will normally receive their vaccine at a primary healthcare centre.
Those aged three and four will preferably receive the nasal flu vaccine during visits organised at their school. Parents will be provided with information and a consent form.
Children who miss the school vaccination can receive it through primary care.
The October 1 phase also includes:
- Children and teenagers aged five to 17 with eligible medical conditions or risk factors.
- Teachers and other staff working with children under five.
- Residents of care homes and centres for people with disabilities, along with their workers and students on placements.
- Healthcare and social-care staff and trainees, initially for the flu vaccine.
- Pregnant women and those within the first six months after giving birth, who can receive both the flu and Covid vaccines.
People living in residential centres will not normally need to make individual appointments because SAS vaccination teams will visit the facilities.
From October 7
People aged 80 and above will be eligible for both the flu and Covid vaccines.
People with a high level of dependency who live at home will also be included, along with their regular carers. The published SAS timetable specifies the flu vaccine for carers.
From October 14
Both vaccines will become available to the general population aged 70 and above.
Adults aged between 18 and 59 who have qualifying health conditions or other risk factors will also become eligible for flu and Covid vaccination.
From October 21
Everyone aged 60 and above will be able to receive the flu vaccine.
This phase will also include police and other security personnel, firefighters, prison workers and professionals whose jobs expose them to animals.
The SAS timetable lists both flu and Covid vaccination for security, emergency and prison personnel, while workers exposed to animals are included for flu vaccination.
Who is eligible for each vaccine?
The seasonal flu vaccine is routinely recommended in Andalucia for everyone aged 60 or above and children aged from six months to four years and 11 months.
It is also recommended for pregnant women, healthcare and care workers, certain occupational groups and people with eligible health conditions.
Routine Covid vaccination begins at age 70, rather than 60.
It is also recommended for pregnant women, care-home residents and people aged 12 to 69 with specified medical conditions. Children aged from six months to 11 years are included only in certain very-high-risk circumstances.
People who do not belong to one of the target groups may be vaccinated against Covid following an individual medical assessment, according to SAS guidance.
Health officials recommend waiting at least three months after the most recent Covid vaccination or infection before receiving the new dose.
How to book an appointment
Appointments will become available as each group enters the campaign.
Eligible residents can book through:
- The ClicSalud+ website.
- The Salud Andalucia app.
- The Salud Responde app.
- The Salud Responde telephone service on 955 54 50 60.
- Their local health centre.
When booking online or through the app, users should select the ‘Vacunacion Gripe/Covid’ option.
A separate ‘Vacunacion Gripe Infantil’ option is available for young children.
People with chronic health conditions, pregnant women and those who have recently given birth may be advised to arrange their appointment directly through their health centre.
The SAS is also planning regional walk-in vaccination sessions on Wednesdays from November 11, subject to vaccine supplies and the progress of the campaign.
Patients should check the address and time shown on their appointment before travelling, as some vaccinations will take place at locations outside normal health centres.
