A 4.6-magnitude earthquake has struck Granada province following several days of seismic activity in the area.
The tremor was recorded at 10.37am on Tuesday (August 18), according to the National Geographic Institute (IGN).
Its epicentre was located northwest of Alhendin, in the Granada metropolitan area.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of just five kilometres, making it a relatively shallow seismic event.
It comes after several days of heightened seismic activity around Alhendin and neighbouring municipalities.
Granada was rocked by a much stronger magnitude-5 earthquake on August 15, which was followed by dozens of aftershocks.
By later that day, the IGN had recorded 98 aftershocks, 13 of which were reportedly felt by residents.

Further seismic activity continued into the early hours of August 16, when another earthquake and almost 20 subsequent tremors were recorded around the metropolitan area.
The latest 4.6-magnitude event marks another significant tremor in the ongoing sequence.
There were no immediate reports of damage following Tuesday morning’s earthquake, while initial IGN data did not provide a maximum intensity for the tremor.
