A teenage boy has died after falling from an apartment building in Almuñecar.
The boy, reported to be aged between 16 and 18, was discovered on the ground at around 8am on Wednesday.
The Guardia Civil said it has not ruled out either an accidental fall or an intentional act.
Paramedics were unable to save the teenager and could only certify his death at the scene.
Investigators are now working to establish exactly what happened in the hours leading up to the fatal fall.
According to local reports, one line of inquiry is whether the teenager had gone onto the rooftop with friends after spending the night celebrating San Juan festivities.
A resident of the building told local media that the victim may have accessed the roof alongside a group of friends shortly before the incident.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the victim’s identity or nationality.
The investigation continues.
