A young man has died after falling from the balcony of an apartment building in the Costa Tropical town of Almuñecar.
The incident happened early on Wednesday morning on Calle Livry-Gargan.
The alarm was raised at around 8am when a member of the public discovered the victim lying on the ground below the building and immediately contacted the 112 emergency service.
The call triggered a major emergency response involving the Guardia Civil, Local Police and paramedics.
However, when emergency crews arrived at the scene they were only able to confirm the young man’s death.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation and officers carried out a detailed examination of the area in an attempt to establish what happened.
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, age or nationality.
The investigation continues.
