A teenager was threatened with a knife during a robbery attempt while walking home from school in Alhaurin el Grande, it has been claimed.
According to a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, the schoolboy was approached by several individuals who tried to steal his mobile phone.
The mother, who shared details of the incident on social media, claims the attackers demanded the teenager hand over his phone.
When he told them he did not have one, they allegedly pulled out a knife, slashed his T-shirt and forced him to open his backpack.
She alleges that after discovering he was not carrying any valuables, the group damaged some of his school belongings, including a ruler and a calculator, before leaving.
The mother also praised staff at a nearby supermarket who came to the teenager’s aid following the incident.
‘They looked after my son and brought him home,’ she wrote.
The Guardia Civil has confirmed that a formal complaint has been lodged and that an investigation is underway to establish exactly what happened and identify those responsible.
No arrests have been reported at this stage.
The alleged attack comes amid continued efforts by police to tackle crime across the province.
In a separate operation, the Guardia Civil recently dismantled a travelling criminal gang accused of carrying out break-ins at bars and cafes across several Andalucian provinces.
Investigators said the four suspects, who were based in Puente Genil in Cordoba province, travelled between towns targeting cash registers and money stored inside gaming machines at hospitality venues.
