Three people have been arrested and a fourth placed under investigation after police seized hundreds of counterfeit luxury clothing items from high-end stores in Marbella.
The Policia Nacional confiscated 319 fake garments that allegedly infringed the intellectual property rights of an internationally renowned luxury fashion brand.
The operation centred on two Marbella establishments where the suspects were allegedly selling clothing designed to imitate the original creations of the foreign fashion house.
According to police, the counterfeit items closely replicated the genuine products, including exclusive prints and distinctive fabric patterns associated with the luxury brand.
Investigators said the garments were being sold at significantly lower prices than the authentic versions, despite appearing highly convincing to customers.
The investigation began after legal representatives of the luxury fashion company filed a complaint with authorities.
Police said the brand’s designs are protected by intellectual and industrial property rights throughout the EU.
Officers subsequently launched an inquiry that led them to the Marbella stores, where they discovered the counterfeit merchandise on display and available for purchase.

Authorities noted that the shops were located in an area known for luxury retail and affluent clientele, increasing the likelihood that customers could be misled into believing the products were genuine.
Police warned that counterfeit goods not only cause significant financial losses to legitimate brands but can also damage their reputation and exclusivity.
The three suspects were arrested on suspicion of offences against intellectual and industrial property rights, while a fourth individual remains under investigation.
The 319 seized items have been removed from sale as part of the ongoing case.
