Andalucia is set for a sharp rise in temperatures next week, with forecasters warning conditions will feel ‘more typical of summer’ across much of the region.
State weather agency Aemet says thermometers will begin climbing from the middle of next week, with some inland areas expected to hit 35C in inland areas like Sevilla, Cordoba and Jaen.
The warm spell comes amid yellow weather alerts in place along the Costa del Sol coastline this Friday due to strong winds and rough seas.
While maximum temperatures of around 26C are expected this Friday in Malaga city, Velez-Malaga and other coastal areas, values will briefly dip over the weekend before surging again from Wednesday onwards.
Aemet says the coming week will generally be warm and dry, with ‘no significant rainfall’ expected and conditions becoming increasingly summer-like across Andalucia.
In Malaga province, inland hotspots including Coin and La Viñuela are forecast to reach 30C by the middle of next week.
Along the coast, temperatures are expected to vary between 27C in Malaga city, Marbella and Estepona, and around 25C in Fuengirola, Mijas and Nerja.
Further north in the province, places such as Cuevas de San Marcos could also touch 30C, while Villanueva de Algaidas and Fuente de Piedra are forecast to hit 29C.
