Seven people have been arrested in Roquetas de Mar after allegedly holding a man captive for 13 days, drugging him and draining his bank accounts of around €40,000.
According to the Guardia Civil, the victim was taken to a property being used as a drug den, where he was kept under constant control for nearly two weeks.
Investigators say the group repeatedly administered a mix of drugs and medication to weaken his ability to react, leaving him unable to resist.
While he was being held, the suspects carried out more than 170 bank transactions – including transfers and withdrawals using services like Bizum and Hall Cash – steadily emptying his accounts.
The case, known as Operation Legartia, began in October after authorities detected suspicious financial activity linked to the victim.
During raids on two properties, officers uncovered a range of drugs including amphetamines, cocaine base, methadone capsules and other substances, along with equipment linked to drug distribution.
They also seized weapons including a compressed air gun, large knives and machetes, as well as an extendable baton.
In addition, a stash of stolen goods was recovered – including air conditioning units, bathroom fittings and tools – some of which have already been returned to their rightful owner.

The seven suspects, aged between 18 and 62, are all local residents and are now under investigation for multiple offences including illegal detention, drug trafficking, robbery with violence, money laundering and membership of a criminal group.
All have been brought before a court in Roquetas de Mar, while the investigation remains ongoing as police work to identify any additional suspects and trace the origin of the recovered items.
