A protest has been organised over the savage killing of a pet cat in Torrevieja.
The feline, called Nala, was beaten to death in the middle of the street by her female owner’s ex-boyfriend.
He was arrested and released under investigation, sparking outrage among the community as footage of the killing went viral.
A resident speaking to the Spanish Eye anonymously said: ‘We are all totally outraged by this killing, it’s the definition of evil.
‘I know there is a gang looking for the guy, he’s probably the most wanted in Torrevieja right now, so many people are looking for him.’
It comes as a protest has been organised for May 10.
In a post on X, an announcement read: ‘Torrevieja has been rocked by a shocking event: an individual brutally killed his ex-girlfriend’s cat right on the street, in front of his neighbours.

‘He was arrested but released. The entire Spanish community is outraged by this injustice, that this monster is free.
‘All concerned are gathering for a rally on May 10 at 12pm at the corner of Calle Orihuela and Calle Clavel to demand justice.
‘If anyone would like to join, that would be great – the more people there are, the greater the impact.
‘Also, on May 13, around the same time, gather outside the courthouse.’
