A 42-year-old man has died and his 12-year-old son has been injured after their car veered off the road and plunged down an embankment in Malaga on Tuesday night.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 8pm when a caller reported that a vehicle had left the road near the Tomillar reservoir, in the Campanillas district close to the city’s Technology Park.
The vehicle is understood to have fallen down a slope, leaving the driver trapped inside while a child passenger was also injured.
Firefighters, paramedics, National Police and Local Police were all dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, medics confirmed the death of the driver while the boy was rushed to the Materno Infantil Hospital in Malaga city.
Local reports indicate the victims were father and son.

Following the fatality, a judicial commission was called to the scene to oversee the removal of the body, as authorities begin investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
