A 34-year-old man has been hospitalised after being shot outside a Marbella nightclub.

The unnamed victim was reportedly shot in the shoulder near Principe Salmam avenue in Puerto Banus on Friday.

The attack happened at around 4.30am but details only emerged this evening.

The area has two nightclubs, one of which was hosting an international DJ on Thursday night.

According to witnesses, the shooter was seen jumping into a car and fleeing the scene.

Calls were made to the 112 emergency service at around 4.30am, sparking an investigation by the Policia Nacional.

There have been no reported arrests at time of publication.

The victim was taken to the Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella. His injuries are not reported to be life threatening.
