ALMOST half of Spain has been placed under a yellow weather alert for strong rains and wind today as Storm Nuria continues to linger.
In Andalucia, identical warnings cover 90% of Sevilla and Cadiz, half of Granada province and the whole of Huelva.
According to state weather agency Aemet, up to 15mm of rainfall could fall within an hour in the affected areas.
The wet weather will also be accompanied by storms and the alerts will remain in place until 6pm.
A weather map by Aemet shows the wall of yellow warnings extending to Extremadura, Avila and the Meseta de Salamanca, taking up the majority of the western half of the mainland.
On the other side of the country, yellow alerts for 70km/hr winds are in place on the coasts of Tarragona and Barcelona and other inland areas.

The Costa del Sol, Valencia and Alicante are spared from the worst of the conditions today.
It comes ahead of what is expected to be a balmy weekend for Spain’s Mediterranean coast.
According to Aemet, the mercury will surge back into the 20s along the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca.
