Sevilla is considering a Vox proposal to extend its ban new tourist apartments to more neighbourhoods.
Current rules for each barrio limit the share of homes that can operate as holiday lets to 10%. They must also be no higher than the first floor.
Under the proposal, that 10% would be lowered even further, and would officially class more neighbourhoods as being ‘saturated’.
Once an area is declared as such, no more Airbnb-style properties can be registered. These areas currently include most of the Casco Antiguo (Old Town) and central Triana.
It is not yet known what new percentage the Vox proposal is putting forward.
The proposal forms part of the PP–Vox agreement on Sevilla’s 2026 budget and is being examined by municipal technical staff.

Since the existing restrictions were introduced, the council has rejected 353 of 791 applications, approximately 45% of the total.
Most concerned properties in neighbourhoods that had already reached the permitted limit.
Separately, the Junta de Andalucia has cancelled the registrations of 402 tourist properties for failing to comply with regional requirements.
