Construction has begun on a 60-home development in Alhaurin de la Torre, with 24 properties sold before building work started.
Malaga-based developer Exxacon Smart Living is investing €20.5 million in Olivara Living, with handovers scheduled for the final quarter of 2029.
Work is progressing simultaneously on both phases of the project, which will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, penthouses and ground-floor homes with gardens.
Every property will come with a parking space and storage room.
The private development’s communal facilities will include separate swimming pools for adults and children, alongside a gym.
Exxacon said the launch of sales for the second phase in March helped secure sufficient buyer demand to move ahead with construction.
Managing director Elena Cuberos described the start of work as ‘an important step towards making this project a reality’, following a ‘very positive commercial response’.

The announcement did not specify starting prices.
Olivara Living is one of several developments the company is progressing across Malaga province.
Construction began in July on Alura Living in Casares Costa, a 99-home project involving an investment of €51.18 million. Deliveries are also expected from 2029.
Exxacon’s wider expansion forms part of an €860 million strategic investment plan running to 2032.
Under that programme, Andalucia is allocated €421.2 million through 2029 for 12 developments comprising more than 1,300 homes.
Malaga province accounts for €294.3 million of that investment, with a further €126.9 million earmarked for Sevilla.
The company currently has 18 active developments encompassing around 1,600 homes at different stages across Spain.
