The brutal murder of a plastic surgeon in Marbella is not believed to be linked to organised crime, it has emerged.
Alexander Aslani, 57, was shot multiple times in the head by a masked gunman inside his Cirumed Clinic on Wednesday afternoon.
According to local reports, police are now examining whether the execution-style killing could be connected to a dissatisfied patient.
The possibility remains an unconfirmed line of inquiry and authorities have not publicly identified a suspect.
Detectives believe a hired killer may have carried out the attack, shooting Aslani several times in the head shortly before 6pm.
Initial accounts suggest a masked attacker arrived at the clinic on a motorbike and escaped with the assistance of a second person.
Witnesses said the suspected gunman was dressed in black and wore a helmet, hood and face covering.
He allegedly entered the clinic before up to three shots were heard.

The attack took place in the Real Panorama complex on the eastern side of Marbella, close to the A-7 and Opium Beach Club.
Aslani had more than 30 years of medical experience and completed over 14,000 surgical procedures during his career.
He ran Cirumed alongside his wife and was named Spain’s best plastic surgeon in 2016, according to the clinic’s website.
Between 2008 and 2018, he headed the plastic surgery departments at the Quiron hospitals in Malaga and Marbella.
He later founded Cirumed, specialising in advanced body-contouring procedures and aesthetic surgery.
Aslani was particularly known for developing the ‘Supercharged BBL’, a buttock augmentation technique combining implants with fat transfer.
The Malaga Medical Association issued a statement on Thursday expressing its ‘strongest condemnation’ of the fatal shooting.
It offered its condolences and support to Aslani’s family, friends, colleagues and loved ones.
The organisation said it ‘firmly and unequivocally’ rejected all acts of violence and expressed concern over an incident of ‘extreme gravity’ in which a doctor was killed while carrying out his professional work.
It added that it had full confidence in Spain’s security forces and judicial authorities to establish what happened and bring those responsible to justice.
