A young woman has been found dead at a Malaga home after apparently receiving an electric shock through a shower head.
Police are investigating the electrical installation at the Antequera property, including whether it may have had an illegal connection to the power grid.
The incident occurred shortly after 3pm on Monday at a property in the San Pedro area.
The 112 emergency service received a call at approximately 3.10pm reporting that a person was unconscious inside the bathroom.
Paramedics and police were dispatched to the property.
Medical personnel attempted to revive the 23-year-old but were unable to save her.
A second woman, aged 45, was treated for anxiety following the incident. She did not need to be taken to hospital.
Initial information indicates that the victim was electrocuted while showering and that the current may have travelled through the handheld shower head.
The Policia Nacional is examining the property’s electrical installation to establish how a current powerful enough to kill the woman reached the shower.
One of the possibilities being investigated is that the home may have had an illegal connection to the electricity grid.
The investigation continues.
