A man has died after suddenly collapsing on a beach in Almeria and going into cardiac arrest.
The tragedy occurred at Las Escobetas in Garrucha on Tuesday afternoon, prompting the rapid deployment of emergency services.
The first call was received by the 112 emergency service at around 5.03pm.
A caller reported that a man had collapsed on the beach and was unresponsive.
Paramedics began performing CPR after he went into cardiorespiratory arrest, but he could not be saved.
The exact cause of his collapse and death remains unconfirmed.
Officials stressed there is no concrete evidence yet that the incident was caused by heatstroke.
No details about the identity or age of the victim have yet been released.
Las Escobetas is the main urban beach in Garrucha, a popular coastal town in the Levante area of Almeria.
The beach runs alongside the town’s seafront promenade and is one of its busiest stretches of coastline during the summer months.
