A young model from Malaga has been given a hero’s welcome after being crowned Mister Supranational 2026, one of the world’s biggest male beauty pageants.
Pedro Cordero Infantes, 23, is from Cartama and beat contestants representing more than 40 countries to take the international title at the competition in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
His victory marks the culmination of a remarkable rise that began just four years ago at a local competition in his hometown.
Cordero was first named Mister Cartama during the municipality’s festivities before going on to become Mister Malaga in 2022.
He then won Mister RNB España Global 2023, paving the way for him to represent Spain on the international stage.
His success in Poland saw him crowned Mister Supranational 2026, putting the young malagueño firmly on the international modelling map.
And he has now been officially welcomed home by authorities in both Cartama and Malaga.
Malaga mayor Paco de la Torre met Cordero at the city hall on Wednesday, alongside councillor for Commerce Elisa Perez de Siles to congratulate him on his international triumph.
Meanwhile, Cartama Town Hall held its own official reception for its hometown star.
Mayor Jorge Gallardo and members of the local government welcomed Cordero to the town hall, where he was presented with a commemorative plaque and a bouquet of flowers.

Gallardo described Cordero’s achievement as a source of enormous pride for the municipality, particularly given that his journey began in Cartama’s own local pageant.
The mayor also praised the level of preparation among young local talent and thanked the RNB España and RNB Malaga organisations for supporting contestants from the town.
Cordero described his experience competing internationally as unforgettable and said he felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to represent Spain following years of preparation and personal effort.
His victory also means his international career is only just beginning.
The 23-year-old is now preparing for a year filled with travel and international engagements as an ambassador for Mister Supranational, while hoping to further establish himself on catwalks around the world.
He said he intends to take the name of Cartama with him wherever his new career takes him.
