A desperate appeal has been launched to find a British man who disappeared while holidaying in Almeria province last week.
Sarah Arney has asked for the public’s help in locating her brother, Cormac, who she says has not returned home as expected after travelling to the area.
Speaking to the Spanish Eye, Sarah said there is currently no indication that he was caught up last week’s devastating wildfire that has so far claimed 13 lives.
‘The FCDO have spoken to the police and let them know but they don’t believe so because all the victims are accounted for currently,’ she said.
In a social media post shared on Wednesday, she said she believes he went missing around July 8.
She wrote: ‘Please can you help, my brother, Cormac, was holidaying in the Almeria area but has not returned home when expected.
‘We believe he went missing around the 8th July. Please can you share or let me know if you have seen him or information about his whereabouts.
‘He is about 5ft 9, brown hair and glasses. We have notified the police and FCDO but any help would be really appreciated.’
In a follow-up comment, Sarah added that Cormac had been staying near Palomares, a coastal village in Almeria province.

The appeal comes just days after the devastating wildfire that tore through parts of Almeria, although there is currently no indication that his disappearance is linked to the blaze.
Anyone who believes they may have seen Cormac or has information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Spanish police or the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
His family are also asking anyone with information to respond to Sarah Arney’s appeal on social media.
