A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a van in Torre del Mar on Thursday night.

The fatal crash happened at around 5.55pm on Cuesta del Visillo, a road in the coastal town that forms part of the municipality of Velez-Malaga.

According to Andalucía’s 112 emergency service, the rider crashed into a van, prompting an immediate response from Local Police officers and paramedics from the 061 emergency health service.

Despite their efforts, medics were unable to save the motorcyclist, who died at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the victim’s age or identity.
