A serious crash involving a car and two motorbikes in Almeria has left one person dead and another seriously injured.
The fatal collision occurred on Monday evening on the A-1051, also known as the Alicun road, in Roquetas del Mar.
Emergency services were alerted shortly after 6pm when multiple calls were made to Andalucia’s 112 emergency coordination centre reporting a serious accident with several casualties.
A major emergency response was immediately launched, involving paramedics from the 061 Emergency Health Centre, Guardia Civil traffic officers, Local Police and road maintenance crews.
Medical personnel confirmed that one person died at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding the victim’s identity.
A second casualty suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Hospital Torrecardenas in Almeria for urgent treatment, according to health service sources.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
Traffic officers spent several hours at the scene carrying out inquiries and securing the affected stretch of road while emergency teams attended to the victims.
No further information has been released about the condition of the injured person or what may have caused the collision.
