Marbella proved chaotic for drivers on Saturday as a major traffic jam clogged up the A-7.
Drivers reported painful queues for popular exits, particularly Puerto Banus and the La Cañada shopping centre.
Footage shared online showed long snaking lines of cars barely moving along the motorway.
Hundreds of residents appeared to be heading to the shops due to the cloudy start to the day.
Elsewhere, a dramatic crash on Calle Salvador Rueda saw one car completely turn over onto its back.
According to witnesses, a woman ‘sped through a stop sign and collided with a car that had right of way.’
‘Fortunately, it wasn’t more serious, but many people don’t respect that mandatory stop sign,’ they added.

It comes after Spain’s traffic authority DGT warned drivers that roads would be busy over this weekend.
However, it did say Saturday would be the least affected, with Sunday expected to be even worse as many head back home after visiting family or their summer homes.
