Brits are visiting Andalucia in record numbers, the latest figures from 2025 show.
Tourism bosses from the Spanish region arrived at this year’s World Travel Market in London with optimism, buoyed by the extemely encouraging results.
According to the data, Andalucia has welcomed over 2.5 million British tourists so far this year, a 10% increase from 2024, marking a major milestone in the recovery from pandemic-era declines.
Even more significant is the broad distribution of these visitors across the region, with travellers exploring 326 towns and villages far beyond the usual tourist hubs.
This success comes alongside the highest-ever air connectivity between the UK and Andalucia, with more than eight million flight seats scheduled between both destinations – up 12% from the previous year – and nearly 43,000 flights connecting the region to 25 different British airports.
While much of the travel industry watches global uncertainties with caution, regional tourism leaders in Andalucía are projecting further growth into 2026.
The number of British hotel guests has already surpassed 1.3 million this year (4.4% above last year), and overnight stays have reached nearly 5.8 million.
Airports have also seen an 8.5% increase in passenger arrivals, with Malaga Airport receiving the vast majority of UK traffic (around 85%).
What’s more, British visitors are spending more. The average tourist now spends around €160 per person, per day – which is two and a half times more than before the pandemic.
Tourism officials say their strategy is paying off after targeting quality over quantity, expanding flight connections and shifting marketing towards high-value traveller segments such as Millennials and Gen Z.
The upbeat outlook is shared across the public and private sectors. Tourism Costa del Sol president Francisco Salado pointed to a strong final quarter in 2025 and high demand in the golf sector, especially among UK visitors who treat the region as their second home.
Representatives from Malaga city and smaller towns like Torrox and Ronda were also present at the WTM to promote their destinations to UK operators.
