A man in his 70s has drowned while swimming off a popular tourist beach in Spain.
The swimmer was spotted floating face down in the water off Los Naufragos beach in Torrevieja at around 11am on Saturday.

He was immediately pulled from the water and paramedics performed CPR for over half an hour but were unable to save his life.
The swimming conditions had been good along the coast of Vega Baja, meaning it was likely that the man fainted in the water.
The Spaniard was from Asturias in the north and was visiting the Costa Blanca resort for a few days.
