A 19-year-old tourist has plunged to her death from the fourth floor of a hotel in Ibiza.

The Italian woman had arrived on the island just hours before the tragedy struck on Sunday.

The fatal fall occurred at a hotel in Sant Antoni de Portmany, a party hotspot on the Balearic island.

According to investigators, the young woman is believed to have been attempting to access her room via a balcony from a shared area of the hotel when she lost her footing and fell.

Her lifeless body was discovered at the base of the hotel by a worker at around 9am.

The staff member immediately called emergency services, triggering a swift response from Sant Antoni’s local police and paramedics from the 061 emergency unit.

Tragically, there was nothing they could do to save her life.

Sources close to the case said the teenager had landed on the island only hours earlier and had spent part of the night visiting several venues.

What happened between then and the moment she fell remains unclear.

The Guardia Civil has now taken charge of the investigation, as authorities try to piece together the woman’s final moments.
