A shooting in Alhaurin el Grande left two foreign nationals injured last weekend, it has emerged.
The previously unreported incident occurred during the early hours of Sunday, September 20, near Villa del Guadalhorce.
The two injured people suffered gunshot wounds, with one hit in the leg and the other in the arm, reports Malaga Hoy.
The Guardia Civil has arrested three people in connection with the attack.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear and the investigation continues under a secrecy order.
No official link has been established between the Alhaurin el Grande incident and the two shootings in Malaga city.
Guardia Civil and local police officers responded to the scene near Camino Pie Gallina, on the road connecting Alhaurin el Grande with Villa del Guadalhorce.
Three shootings in five days
The attack came two days after 20-year-old Nacho was shot while sitting on a bench near his home in Malaga’s Barcenillas neighbourhood.
He suffered gunshot wounds to his back and leg and died in hospital several hours later.
Investigators have confirmed that Nacho had no links to organised crime and was not the intended target of the attack.
Three suspects were arrested and subsequently remanded in custody without bail while being investigated for suspected homicide.
The third shooting occurred at Malaga’s busy Muelle Uno on Tuesday night.
Turkish Fenerbahçe ultra Ümit Yalçin, 47, was shot in the face while dining on the terrace of a waterfront restaurant.
Doctors initially feared for his life, although he was later stabilised in hospital.
Government subdelegate Javier Salas said a suspected settling of scores between groups linked to drug trafficking was the principal line of investigation in the Muelle Uno case.
No arrests have yet been announced in connection with that attack.
