This is the moment a ‘highly dangerous’ man linked to notorious French drug lord Mohamed Amra was handed over to Spain.
Footage shared by the Policia Nacional shows the suspect being flown into the country on the force’s own jet plane, before being led away in handcuffs.
Police confirmed in a post on X that the suspect had been transferred from France under a European Arrest Warrant.
He is wanted on suspicion of kidnapping and belonging to a criminal organisation, with police saying he is linked to the network surrounding Amra, better known by his nickname ‘La Mouche’ – The Fly.
The transfer was carried out under heightened security because of what Spanish police described as the suspect’s ‘exceptional dangerousness’.
The case has its roots in a sprawling organised crime investigation stretching from the Costa del Sol to France – and involving one of Europe’s most notorious prison escapes.
Who is ‘The Fly’?
Mohamed Amra became France’s most wanted man after escaping from custody during a spectacular and deadly ambush on a prison convoy in Normandy on May 14, 2024.
Gunmen attacked the convoy at the Incarville toll station, killing two prison officers and seriously injuring three others before freeing Amra.
The attack triggered a massive international manhunt involving hundreds of officers.
Amra remained on the run for more than nine months before finally being arrested in Bucharest, Romania, on February 22, 2025. He was subsequently returned to France.
The alleged drug trafficker has been linked to organised crime networks operating not only in France but also in Spain, with the Costa del Sol emerging repeatedly in investigations surrounding his associates.
The Costa del Sol connection
One of the most serious Spanish cases linked to Amra centres on the disappearance of Mehdi B., a French-Algerian man associated with the drug trade who was kidnapped in Marbella in December 2023.
Investigators believe Mehdi had previously worked for Amra and suspect a dispute involving drugs or an unpaid debt may have been behind his disappearance.

His vehicle was later discovered abandoned with evidence suggesting he had been kidnapped. He has never been found and investigators believe he was killed.
Three French men were arrested during the investigation into the kidnapping, two of whom had also been linked to a shooting near Puerto Banus in July 2023.
Amra has also been linked by investigators to the attempted assassination of another alleged drug trafficker in Marbella in 2023.
In that incident, a gunman opened fire with an automatic weapon near Banus in broad daylight. Investigators suspect Amra may have ordered the hit against a former associate.
Suspect brought back to Spain
The latest operation has now seen another alleged member of the wider criminal network brought from France to Spain.
According to the Policía Nacional, the man was wanted by the Spanish justice system for kidnapping and membership of a criminal organisation.
Police have not publicly identified him in their initial announcement.
Importantly, authorities have described him as being linked to the network connected with Amra’s escape.
