A 74-year-old lorry driver has died after being struck by a car on the A-7 motorway in Marbella.
The fatal collision happened at around 1.45am on Wednesday, on the carriageway heading towards Malaga.
According to traffic authorities, the man had been driving a lorry when it broke down.
After getting out of the vehicle, he entered the carriageway, where he was hit by a passing car.
Emergency services received several calls reporting both a collision and a pedestrian being struck.
The Guardia Civil later requested an ambulance for the victim, but paramedics were unable to save his life.
Traffic officers from the Guardia Civil, road maintenance crews and paramedics all attended the scene.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
