A British family of five who sparked a missing persons alert in Almeria has been found alive and well, according to the charity that launched the appeal.
SOS Desaparecidos confirmed on Monday that the search for the family, based in Albox, has been officially called off after they were located.
In a brief statement posted on social media, the organisation said: ‘Alert deactivated. The missing family from Albox has been located. Thank you very much for your important help in sharing the appeal.’
The update comes just hours after authorities confirmed they were investigating the disappearance of two adults and three children who had not been seen since June 19.
Earlier, the Guardia Civil said initial indications suggested the family may have left voluntarily and officers were attempting to establish contact to verify their wellbeing.
The missing persons alert had identified the group as two adults and three children travelling together in a dark blue Nissan Qashqai with a UK licence plate.
A photograph shared by SOS Desaparecidos after the alert was withdrawn appears to show the family alongside Guardia Civil officers after being found.

No further details have been released regarding where the family was found or the circumstances surrounding their disappearance.
The case has now been closed and the missing persons appeal withdrawn.
However, sources from the Guardia Civil have indicated that the case is currently being treated as a likely voluntary disappearance, although officers are still working to locate the family and confirm their wellbeing.
