Private jets, designer handbags worth tens of thousands, Ibiza getaways and a life broadcast in minute detail online.
Sasha Sobhani is once again under the spotlight after fresh images of his luxury lifestyle reignited criticism, particularly given the stark contrast with life in Iran.
The 38-year-old influencer, son of former Iranian diplomat Ahmad Sobhani, was recently pictured with his partner, Spanish model Laura Neimas, boarding a private jet reportedly bound for Ibiza at the start of the 2026 season.
In the images, he carries a Louis Vuitton bag worth more than €3,000, while she is seen with a Hermes Birkin valued at nearly €29,000 – one of the most exclusive luxury accessories on the market.
Marbella, Ibiza and a life on display
The scenes, widely shared on Instagram, are typical of the persona Sobhani has built for himself.
With nearly four million followers, his content revolves around wealth, featuring superyachts, high-end cars, parties and constant travel.
Destinations like Marbella and Ibiza feature heavily – places long associated with international luxury, where private villas, beach clubs and elite nightlife form part of the backdrop.

Even his most ordinary moments are turned into spectacle. In one post, he eats McDonald’s in Marbella beside a Porsche GT3, using the car’s rear wing as a table.
In one video shared by the Daily Mail, Sobhani is seen inside a private jet kissing his partner before telling the camera: ‘Thank God for all these blessings.’
Another clip shows him and a friend eating Persian food mid-flight, seated on a traditional carpet as the camera pans to the view outside.
The weight of his surname
The controversy surrounding Sobhani goes beyond wealth. His father, Ahmad Sobhani, held senior diplomatic roles, including ambassador to Venezuela and Gabon, and later served as Iran’s deputy foreign minister for European and American affairs.
He also had links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard during the Iran-Iraq war before entering diplomatic service.
In 2018, Ahmad Sobhani publicly distanced himself from his son, stating he had cut ties and disagreed with his lifestyle and values.
The ‘aghazadeh’ effect
Sobhani is often associated with the term aghazadeh – used in Iran to describe children of powerful figures who benefit from privilege and wealth.

In his case, that perception is amplified by the way he showcases his life. The luxury is not discreet. It is the product.
That visibility fuels criticism. While many Iranians face economic hardship, political restrictions and social limitations, Sobhani’s posts from Europe highlight a life of excess – something that regularly triggers backlash online.
A controversial public figure
Sobhani has spent years cultivating a provocative image, frequently sharing content featuring parties, yachts and luxury travel. His relationship with Laura Neimas, which reportedly began in late 2023 and became public in 2024, has only added to that profile.
Together, they have appeared across ski resorts, private flights and Mediterranean hotspots.
