A decomposing body has been found wrapped in a sack on the edges of a reservoir in Malaga.
The gruesome discovery was made on Tuesday morning, in the Casasola reservoir in Almogia.
Sources from the Guardia Civil told local media that the state in which the body was found suggests a violent death.
The corpse had been bound inside a cloth sack, tied with ropes, a method of disposal investigators describe as ‘deliberate and concealing.’
It was a passerby who raised the alarm at around 11.30am, spotting what looked like a body near the shoreline.

Local Malaga police were first to respond and quickly passed the call to their counterparts in Almogia, along with the Guardia Civil.
A judicial commission, including the duty judge, a legal clerk, and a forensic pathologist, was dispatched to the scene. Due to advanced decomposition, the team removed the remains without unwrapping them.
The body was then transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Malaga, where forensic experts will carry out an autopsy and attempt to identify the victim.
For now, the Guardia Civil is keeping its cards close. While all signs point to foul play, investigators are still piecing together how the body ended up at the reservoir.
