The province now rivals long-established hotspots, with room rates among the highest in the country during summer.

In Chiclana, the second most expensive destination in Andalucia after Marbella, an overnight stay averages €210 and can soar to €800 in peak season.

At the heart of this luxury boom is the resort of Novo Sancti Petri, where high-end resorts dominate the coastline.

The area is becoming a favourite for wealthy international visitors, following in the footsteps of Sotogrande, the long-time playground of Cadiz’s jet set in nearby San Roque.

It’s no coincidence that four Cadiz hotels are among the finalists for the title of Best Hotel in Spain.

The winners will be revealed on October 23 at the Beyond Luxury Awards gala, hosted at Fairmont La Hacienda Costa del Sol in La Alcaidesa (San Roque).

A total of 55 hotels across Spain – from Barcelona and Malaga to Mallorca and the Canary Islands – are competing across five categories: Classic, Lifestyle, Resort, Urban, and Boutique.

The awards showcase the breadth and refinement of Spain’s luxury hospitality sector, from city icons to coastal retreats.

  • Gran Melia Sancti Petri
A repeat nominee at the Beyond Luxury Awards, this neo-Mudejar masterpiece takes inspiration from the Alhambra and the Mezquita of Cordoba. With 227 rooms and suites, it offers multiple pools, gardens, a spa, and a private beach club. Its crown jewel is Alevante, the Michelin-starred restaurant by celebrated chef Ángel León.

  • MIM Sotogrande
Owned by football legend Leo Messi, this intimate five-star hotel offers 45 designer rooms and suites, each with private terraces. Its standout is Hincha, a Mediterranean restaurant led by chef Nandu Jubany. Other highlights include a spa, 24-hour gym, library, and rooftop pool with panoramic views.
  • SO/ Sotogrande
A benchmark for luxury and wellbeing in southern Spain. Its 3,500m² spa features a gym, sauna, whirlpools, and thermal circuit. Guests also enjoy a 27-hole golf course, four restaurants, 152 rooms and suites, and a lifestyle concept that fuses sport, gastronomy, and wellness in a lush natural setting.

From golf resorts and beachfront spas to Michelin-starred dining and celebrity-owned hotels, Cadiz is consolidating its reputation as a destination for high-end tourism.
