Music fans got very excited this week after believing they had bumped into a British icon in Marbella.

‘Rod Stewart in Puerto Banus!’, read one excited Instagram post on Tuesday, alongside a clip of a mullet-sporting reveller dancing the night away.

The man was filmed being swarmed by people in the popular Babilonias bar.

The post was filled with comments gushing over Sir Rod’s alleged presence – with some not realising it was in fact just a look-a-like of the Do Ya Think I’m Sexy singer.

The real star is in fact thousands of kilometres away in Poland.

The grandfather-of-four is in the eastern European country as part of his One Last Time tour.

Plenty of commenters were not convinced, however, particularly the Brits.

One wrote: ‘More like Bob Stuart!’, while another said, ‘I can’t believe people actually think this is Rod Stewart.’
