Spaniards have been left shocked following the results of the Eurovision song contest tonight.
Melody finished 24th out of 26 after receiving just 10 points from the public vote for the performance of her song Esa Diva.
Scores of music fans took to X to express their anger over the results, with many simply writing ‘Spain robbed!’.
Many accused voters of ‘punishing’ Melody for the pro-Palestine stance taken by Spanish broadcaster RTVE.
‘I am disgusted by the injustice done to Spain,’ wrote one.
‘This is ridiculous, Spain should be in the top 10,’ said another, while one declared: ‘I am shock Spain only got 10 points.’
One Spaniard said he only wants to see people from Albania visiting Spain this summer – after the country awarded Spain 10 points.
Spain has been grabbing headlines this week for its strong stance against Israel – which almost clinched the Eurovision title after receiving 297 points from the public vote.
Spanish broadcaster RTVE received a warning after its presenters discussed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza during the semi-finals this week, branding Israel’s actions a genocide.
During the final on Saturday, RTVE aired a pro-Palestine which read: ‘When human rights are at stake, silence is not an option. Peace and justice for Palestine.’
The UK were also snubbed by the public vote after receiving a humiliating zero.
Remember Monday were seen laughing off the snub in the green room, after having received 88 points from the jury.
