This is the moment a squatter was confronted by television cameras after taking over a parking spot in the garage of an apartment building.
The unnamed man has been living in the parking space in Madrid for weeks, with photos showing he has erected a bed and at one point even had a fridge and a TV.
The occupier, of North African descent, was grilled by a presenter from the widely-watched television programme Y Ahora Sonsoles.
At one point, a local who lives in the block, in Alcobendas, confronts the man, saying the neighbours are ‘suffering’ and that some don’t ‘feel safe’.
She added that she ‘pays a lot’ to ‘keep hold’ of her flat and pay her bills, while he uses their electricity for free.

He is heard saying that he only uses the mains to charge his phone for 20 minutes per day ‘and then I am gone’.
The man also claimed that he only uses the space to sleep at night, and that he does not drink or do drugs.
Squatting is a growing concern in Spain, especially due to the lack of affordable housing, which is only increasing.
The law also tends to fall on their side, with legal battles to remove them often lasting months or years.
A new ‘anti-squatter law’ came into effect in April which allows squatters who break in and enter a property to be evicted within 15 days.
However, it does not apply to tenants who had a rental contract and stopped paying their landlord and refused to move out.
It has led many squatters to draw up fake rental contracts in a bid to delay their eviction.
