A 25-year-old wheelchair user has been stabbed to death inside his home in Mijas – some four years after surviving a shooting that left him handicapped.
The alarm was raised at around 8.35pm on Monday, August 10, following reports that a young man had been attacked at a property in Mijas Golf.
The 112 emergency service dispatched Guardia Civil officers and 061 paramedics to the scene.
However, when officers arrived, the injured man was nowhere to be found.
He was eventually located at the Hospital Costa del Sol in Marbella, where he had been rushed in a private car after suffering stab wounds.
Health sources confirmed to news agency EFE that the vicitm died after being admitted to the hospital with injuries caused by a bladed weapon.
According to Diario Sur, a friend who regularly visited the victim had arrived at his home and discovered him seriously wounded.
He then put him in his car and rushed him to hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.
The victim reportedly had a lengthy criminal record and had barricaded himself inside his home on two separate occasions in recent years.
He was also using a wheelchair after being injured in a shooting in 2022, according to the Malaga newspaper.
Sources close to the investigation said the fatal stab wound was to the man’s chest.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation into the killing and the circumstances surrounding the attack.
It is the second homicide recorded in Malaga province in less than 24 hours.
It follows a separate killing at a home in San Pedro de Alcantara, Marbella, where a man allegedly confessed to police that he had killed his partner, a 35-year-old trans woman.
