Spain’s biggest sporting stars may have just launched the summer’s latest hair trend.
Just hours after World Cup winner Marc Cucurella debuted a new braided hairstyle, tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has unveiled a remarkably similar look.
The tennis world No. 3 revealed his hairstyle to fans on Instagram, swapping his usual short cut for neat summer braids that closely resemble those recently worn by the Chelsea FC left-back.
The makeover comes as the 23-year-old prepares to make his comeback at the Cincinnati Masters, having spent more than four months on the sidelines with a wrist injury.
Alcaraz has missed several of the biggest tournaments on the tennis calendar, including the Madrid Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, but recently shared footage of himself training at full intensity, suggesting he has fully recovered.
Now, alongside his return to the court, fans have been given something else to talk about.

While Cucurella has become known for his trademark long curly locks, the defender this week surprised supporters by having his hair braided, and it appears Alcaraz may have taken inspiration from the Spain international.
Whether it becomes the must-have hairstyle of the summer remains to be seen, but two of Spain’s biggest sporting names are certainly making a strong case for it.
