Facebook went down in Spain on Friday with scores of users left unable to access the social media website.
Thousands of people flooded other platforms like X to ask if the network was suffering an outage.
Users across the US, Europe and Asia reported having issues with the both the website, app and Facebook messenger.
The platform has yet to issue a statement.
Outage tracking website Downdetector recorded a sharp spike in reports on all Meta-run platforms, suggesting the disruption was affecting users across multiple regions.
On Facebook, the majority of complaints related to the Facebook app itself, accounting for 56% of reports. A further 26% involved login issues.
Instagram users experienced similar problems, with 60% of reports linked to app malfunctions, while others cited difficulties connecting to servers or accessing their accounts.
Many users took to alternative platforms to share their frustrations.
One Reddit user described a series of glitches before being completely locked out of their accounts.

‘I was logged in but no stories would load. Posts and reels loaded fine but no comments would appear on anything,’ they wrote.
‘Then it logged me out and wouldn’t allow me to log back in. Messenger too. I couldn’t load any new messages.’
At the time of writing, Meta had not publicly commented on the cause of the outage.
