This is the moment Irish tourists were filmed rolling on the ground on the deadly A-7 motorway near Mijas on Thursday.
Footage of the bizarre incident shows a man in blue shorts and a matching t-shirt seemingly refusing to get up off the road, despite repeated pleas from his friends.
At one moment, his pal is seen dragging him by his arm away from the moving traffic, while passersby record the incident on their mobile phones.
Meanwhile, cars were forced to come to a standstill during an already busy traffic period.
The incident happened near the turn off for Las Lagunas de Mijas.
The footage was shared on the community Instagram page @FuengirolaSeQueja.
The Spanish page captioned the clip with ‘the summer season has officially begun’.
The video was met with dozens of comments branding the incident as ‘shameful.’
‘Remember guys, we live off of tourism,’ one local said sarcastically.

Another wrote ‘GTA Fuengirola’, comparing the incident to the gangster-themed video game Grand Theft Auto.
‘The alleged high quality tourism,’ another quipped.
The footage comes as resentment against perceived excessive tourism in Malaga province is growing.
This month, new anti-tourism graffiti has emerged in Malaga city telling holidaymakers and ‘guiris’ to ‘go home’.
