A British convict who once wreaked havoc on the Costa del Sol has been on the run for six months, it has emerged.
Craig Porter, 43, is wanted by Merseyside Police after breaching the terms of his release following a prison sentence for domestic violence offences.
Porter was one of two men convicted over the disappearance of Agnese Klavina, a Latvian waitress who vanished from outside a Marbella nightclub at the age of 30 in 2014.
He stood trial alongside Westley Capper, but both avoided jail after prosecutors failed to prove a kidnapping charge that carried potential sentences of up to 12 years.
However, the court did find that both men were involved in coercion after CCTV showed them putting Klavina into the back of a car.
Capper was convicted of coercion, while Porter was found guilty as an accomplice and handed a suspended six-month sentence.
The judge concluded they had conspired to force Klavina into the car outside the Aqwa Mist nightclub.

CCTV footage shown during the trial captured Capper holding Klavina by the arm and leading her towards a Mercedes S63, while Porter waited inside the vehicle. She has not been seen since.
Further evidence presented in court revealed that Capper was spotted days later carrying a large bag onto his father’s boat.
Prosecutors suggested Klavina may have been killed and her body disposed of at sea, although this was never proven in court. Capper maintained he had dropped her off before she disappeared.
Porter told the court he had been asleep in the back of the car at the time, claiming he was drunk and exhausted. In 2019, both men were ordered to pay €10,000 in compensation to Klavina’s family.
The case took another dark turn when Porter and Capper were later involved in a separate incident on the Costa del Sol.

In 2016, Capper fatally struck a Bolivian woman, Fatima Dorado, in San Pedro de Alcantara while under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Porter was a passenger in the vehicle.
Capper admitted negligent homicide and received a suspended sentence after compensating the victim’s family.
Capper died in 2021 after contracting Covid-19.
Now, attention has turned back to Porter, who is wanted for violating his release conditions. Police issued a public appeal for information in October, but he remains missing.
He is described as around 1.78 metres tall, with a strong build and short brown hair, and is known to have links to Liverpool and the Wirral.
