A man in his 70s has died on a beach in Torrox after collapsing just metres from the sea.
The incident happened on Saturday evening at El Morche beach.
The man was found lying on the sand around five metres from the shoreline, close to a local chiringuito.
Emergency services were alerted at around 6.45pm, with calls made to Andalucia’s 112 control centre.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene, but were unable to revive the man and confirmed his death.
Officers from the Guardia Civil and Policia Local de Torrox also attended.
The man is believed to have been alone at the time.
While the exact cause of death has not been officially confirmed, early indications suggest it was due to natural causes.
