A British man wanted by UK authorities for drug trafficking has been arrested at Alicante Airport after turning up to collect a family member.
The fugitive, 43, was detained by the Policia Nacional when he appeared at the airport, unaware he was the subject of an International Arrest Warrant.
The man is accused of drug trafficking in the UK.
In May 2024, he was allegedly stopped by British police while transporting one kilo of high-purity cocaine.
Investigators believe he was linked to multiple cocaine shipments.
However, before British authorities could move in to arrest him, he disappeared.
By mid-September 2025, an international arrest warrant had been issued after he was declared missing.
Following his arrest in Alicante, the suspect was transferred to Madrid and placed at the disposal of Spain’s National Court (Audiencia Nacional), which will now handle the extradition process to return him to the UK.
