Andalucia will not be moving its regional elections forward, it has been confirmed.
President Juanma Moreno has made clear that he intends to see out the current term and hold the next vote in June 2026, as scheduled.
It comes amid national uncertainty and speculation about possible snap elections elsewhere in Spain.
Moreno said his government’s priority is to provide stability and continuity, arguing that Andalucia needs political certainty while ongoing projects are completed.
He stressed that his administration remains focused on economic management, job creation and strengthening public services.
The regional leader insisted there is no strategic plan to bring forward the vote, stating that his intention is to govern ‘until the last day’ of the mandate and present voters with a record based on results.
While political timetables can always shift, the official position for now is that there will be no early election, and Andalucians are expected to return to the polls in June 2026.
