Carlos Alcaraz has sparked criticism from fans after ‘snubbing’ Juan Carlos Ferrero from his end-of-year montage on social media.
The Murcia native and tennis World No.1 split from his long-time coach in December, in news that shocked the sporting world.
It came after a near-perfect 2025 that including Roland Garros and US Open wins, plus three Masters 1000 trophies and the same number of ATP 500 victories.
Despite this, when Alcaraz posted a series of photos on December 31 that looked back at his best moments of 2025, Ferrero was not included once.
‘Carlitos… Juan Carlos was a key part of your 2025, come on man, he deserved a photo!’ one fan commented.
Another said: ‘Ferrero was with you from start to finish. No matter what happened, he was and always will be the foundation of your career. Honor to whom honor is due!’

‘In this life, you have to be grateful,’ another fan said, ‘You have to remember who has brought you to where you are right now and be especially grateful to Juan Carlos Ferrero.’
Alcaraz and Ferrero reportedly separated due to disagreements over contractual conditions, and this latest ‘snub’ has reignited speculation of a bitter divorce.
Over seven years, the pair built one of the sport’s most successful partnerships, guiding Alcaraz from a promising teenager to a multiple Grand Slam champion.
However, tensions reportedly grew over training methods and, in particular, how the young Spaniard managed recovery and rest after major tournaments.
When the split was announced, Alcaraz said: ‘Juanki and I have decided to end our journey together as player and coach.
‘Thank you for turning childhood dreams into reality. We started this path when I was just a kid, and throughout all these years you’ve been by my side on an incredible journey, on and off the court.’
Ferrero has since said publicly that the affection remains and that he would have liked to continue coaching, but speculation around the true reasons for the break has never fully died down.
