This is the moment a lorry dramatically overturned on a major Malaga motorway on Thursday.
The accident occurred at around 4.30am on the A-92M, on a stretch that connects the Alto de las Pedrizas with Granada province.
The lorry was stretched across both lanes, completely blocking traffic and causing tailbacks.
According to Spain’s Traffic Management Centre, vehicles were diverted onto the A-45, preventing significant traffic jams despite the full closure.
Emergency services, including Guardia Civil traffic officers, road maintenance crews, firefighters and paramedics, were deployed to the scene.
A 48-year-old man was taken to Antequera hospital, although the circumstances leading to the crash remain under investigation.
Later in the morning, a second incident triggered heavy congestion on the MA-20 ring road around Malaga.
A collision involving a motorbike and two cars caused queues of up to 2km near kilometre 10.4, in the Torremolinos direction.
The crash happened at around 7.50am, partially blocking the left lane close to the Ortega Prados tunnel.
