Authorities in Malaga province are investigating a series of disturbing deaths, after three bodies were discovered in less than 24 hours.
The discoveries, which occurred within a tight window between Sunday afternoon and Monday lunchtime, have triggered intense speculation about whether the cases are connected.
Sunday afternoon: A body is found in Ronda
The wave of incidents began on Sunday afternoon, when the body of a man showing signs of a violent death was discovered on a roadside in the Serranía de Ronda.
The victim had suffered multiple injuries, and his death is being treated as murder. Like the other two cases, the victim has yet to be identified.
Monday morning: Body thrown from boat in Puerto Banus
Just hours later at around noon on Monday, a semi-rigid speedboat – believed to be a so-called narcolancha – was seen approaching the entrance of the port at Puerto Banus, Marbella.
According to eyewitnesses, masked individuals aboard the boat threw a body into the water before fleeing back out to sea at speed.
Emergency services raced to the scene but found the person already deceased.
The identity of this man also remains unknown, and an autopsy is expected to determine whether he died before or after entering the water.
Sources close to the case say drug trafficking is a likely line of inquiry, though no arrests have been made and the Guardia Civil has not ruled out other possibilities.
Monday afternoon: Woman’s body found near Algarrobo
At around 1.40pm on Monday, emergency services received a call from a passer-by who spotted a body floating in the sea, close to the rocky shoreline in Mezquitilla, a beach in the municipality of Algarrobo.
Emergency units were immediately mobilised, including ambulances, Local Police, firefighters and the Guardia Civil’s intervention team, who recovered the body.
Authorities have since confirmed the deceased is a woman, though her identity remains unknown.
Initial reports suggest no visible signs of violence, but investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances of her death. No further details have been released by the Guardia Civil at this time.
Are the cases connected?
As of now, investigators have not publicly confirmed any direct link between the three deaths.
However, the timing, geographic proximity, and nature of the cases – particularly the dumping of bodies in public areas – have raised concerns among law enforcement and residents.
